Expanding my horizons...

If you know me, you will know I'm a very indecisive person. Whether its picking what kind of pizza I want for dinner {Hawaiian, of course}, or picking what I want to do with my life. I had always focused on doing something along the lines of journalism, or being an author. Then, I thought about going into the medical field. Then, I decided I don't really know how I feel about the medical field considering I have a nervous stomach {sucks that I'm taking Health Science this year, yay me. Good job 8th grade Katherine. Good choice.}. Now, I'm leaning more towards media and production. It's kinda funny because when I was like in 5th grade I was like, "Oh yeah! I'm gonna be a singer and get famous like Justin Bieber & Cody Simpson!". So, I made a YouTube channel. I forget what it was named before, I'm pretty sure it was something like "Gummy Bear Sings" or something like that. Then, I decided I didn't really like it so I deleted the videos. Then, flash forward into my 6th grade year, I loved writing and reading so I was like, "Oh I wanna be a journalist!". So, I found the app Wattpad and started writing. Then guess what, I hated my stories. So I deleted them. So, I tried the whole YouTube thing again. Tried to be a "beauty guru" like xxmakeupiscoolxx, who was my original inspiration for being a "beauty guru". Then, I decided that wasn't for me and I just felt fake doing it. So I made a YouTube video clarifying what I wanted to do called, "Changing My Focus". It helped me realize what I really wanted in life, somewhat. There are two quotes I live by and have since I was in like the 7th grade which are, "Do what you love, and love what you do." and "At the end of the day, we're all just teenagers trying to find ourselves in this big world we call home." Meaning, as long as you're doing what YOU want to and getting what YOU want out of what you're doing, you will succeed. But, that's a whole different topic for an upcoming post in the possible future. So, back on track to what I was talking about. Now that I'm a Freshman, I am opening new doors for my future. I'm seeing and deciding what I truly want to do. Now that I see my options a little better, I am trying to come up with the specifics. What I am most interested in. I want to deal with the media. I want to get my words out and share them with others. I love photography. Which is why I came up with this blog. It's why I've changed my YouTube channel once again. My favorite part of doing YouTube is not necessarily the filming, it's the editing. My favorite part of photography, isn't just taking pictures of things I see. My favorite part of writing, isn't just trying to entertain others. Anyone can make a video and upload it. Anyone can take a picture and share it with others. Anyone can write a story and entertain people. It's all about what YOU create out of it. The editing, the meaning of the photo, the true inspiration of the story. That's what makes everyone's creation of work different and diverse. I love editing! I love finding meaning behind a picture of a grass blade. I love getting inspired to write a really good story and sharing it with others. It doesn't matter if only 10 people see the creation or 1,000,000 people see it. What matters is that YOU created it and YOU put hard work into it. Who really cares what others think? If it has meaning to you, that's all that really matters in life. Do what YOU want to do. If it's being an astronaut that you wish to become, do it. If it's a doctor you wish to be, do it. If you want to work at McDonald's your entire life, do it. As long as you do it with pride and passion, do it. Don't care what others think as long as you're doing what you love. And this my friends, is not only the beginning of the end of this blog post, it's also the beginning of the end of the old me. I hope this inspired few or many people, if not, it's okay. Because I created it. And now my friends, I am beginning a new chapter in my life. I am, expanding my horizons.
